Bio

Slumber. is a four piece indie rock band from Chelmsford, Essex via Liverpool.

Whilst most of Slumber.'s music is sonically upbeat, the lyrics touch upon some of the darker parts of life, with emotion pouring out of every line.

Formed in 2018 by Asher and former guitarist Jamie, Slumber. set out to create a unique blend of songs you can dance and cry to, releasing their first EP "Empty Sounds For Thoughtful Minds" in March of 2018. The EP was recorded in a friend's bedroom, and despite the quality of audio, Slumber. started achieving airtime on local radio stations CCR and Time.fm. Songs from this EP are "Fan Favourites", with Find You often closing shows accompanied by a chorus of strangers' voices.

Slumber. quickly started to gain traction with their energetic, in your face and memorable shows across Essex and crossing the border into Suffolk.

Sadly, due to personal reasons, at the end of 2019 Slumber. went on a brief hiatus due to the departure of guitarist Jamie, but decided to continue as a three piece.

As a three piece Slumber. recorded their most experimental record yet, influenced by The 1975, Arctic Monkeys and The Wombats with a dash of late 90s emo. How Can I Change The World When I Can't Change Your Mind? was recorded in September of 2020 and released in January 2021, This EP has achieved over 2,000 streams and gained the band radio play on both local station CCR and BBC Essex where the band were interviewed by Rob Jelly, and their single "Love The Way You Laugh" received a prestigious Panic Award nomination for "Song Of The Year".

With this release coming during lockdown, unfortunately the songs from this EP weren’t featured in a live show until October of 2022 when the band reunited, along with new bassist James.

Since 2022 Slumber. have gigged throughout Essex and beyond, notably traveling to Hertfordshire and London! With an old friend of the band David Torr stepping in on guitar, Slumber. released their most introspective release yet in July of 2026 "The World Is Underwelming", with influences from Bloc Party, Turnover and Modest Mouse. Lead single Cardigan has an upbeat sound reminiscent of the 1975 and the indie scene of the 2010s. This was followed by Your Lips and End of a Movie which showcased a more darker cinematic sound, with soaring guitar lines and massive choruses, positioning the band in the middle of indie and emo!
